Python, Pumps + Fire Alarm

Busy day yesterday with 2 important visitors with the bar being fitted with its pumps, valves and python and Chequers now looks like a pump. The fire protection system was fitted and tested and work progressed with the joinery. We are working on the cellar today so we can get the first stock in by the weekend. We still have lots of work to do on the toilets and kitchen but we are pushing on to our opening date. Cheers

Proposed Opening Hours

Hi just put up proposed initial opening hours. These will be extended to include more lunchtimes and afternoons and the closing times on an evening will be decided partly by the demands of our wonderful customers and of course the hours of our licence. Cheers

Sorry guys but we will miss May deadline

Well the floor is down, the bar and upper bar is 80% complete and looking good, most of the painting is done but the tiling, cellar cabinet and python the Ladies & Gents and signage are still to be completed. We also have the task of getting in our first deliveries on wonderful Ales & Ciders. Can't wait.
Cheers.

A Big Week

Well we didn't make the Bank Holiday dead line but plenty of progress has been made and down stairs is looking good. The flooring is down electrics and plumbing largely complete with only final touches oh and the minor detail of building the bar!! The first floor however still has plenty of work but we are pushing on as fast as possible. I. Will put more pics up this weekend. Light is at the end of the tunnel. Thanks to the team. Cheers

Paint & Fittings

Light at the end of the tunnel

Another week of hard graft by all concerned and real progress has been made. There is light at the end of this very long tunnel. The build is taking longer than expected, as has every aspect of this project but we are really pleased with the results so far.
Plastering should be completed today and the dust cleaning, painting, staining and joinery can commence. More pics have been added to the website to bring you up to date. http://chequersmicropub.co.uk/3.html
We have put together a quick advert for the forthcoming Camra Pub Mirror with no opening date but the Blog will advise you when that long anticipted day arrives.
Cheers

Latest...News

Well we are still working hard but with such a small team and lack of space for tools, materials and additional workers I think we are still a couple of weeks away but will be open this month. So much interest, encouragment and support desperate for that first pint is fantastic. Cheers
ps click on the photo of Chequers for the pix of our progress.

First light fitting up

Small victories push us forward. Putting things back in takes time if a standard is to be achieved but the results are well worth it. John the plasterer is back in today so the ground floor sould show some more progress today.

Munching Insects!!

After a well deserved break at the weekend and the disturbing news that the origional timbers in the roof had been visited by lots of visiting munching insects we are still pushing forward.
The timbers were retreated yesterday and may need additional support but the project moves on plastering downstairs, stud walls, electrics and plumbing upstairs. Today should see the completion of the steelwork for the stillage and hoist and the arrival of the balance of the sanitary ware.
The first pint draws nearer.
Cheers
